So delighted :D
Now, I bet everyone is getting sick of seeing crackle, but I am not sick of seeing it on my nails!

I can't wait for Sally's to restock so I can get the rest!

I like trying to figure out different ways to use the crackle and shatter to make it a little more original.
I used:
Wet N Wild Shine - Black Creme
China Glaze - Broken Hearted
China Glaze - Crushed Candy
To get the half-n-half look, I let my base coat fully dry and used some technical tape (sort of like electrical tape - it doesn't stick to nail polish the way scotch tape tends to) to tape off half the nail.
With the tape on, I painted one half with Crushed Candy and took the tape off really quickly before the crackling started.
Then I carefully painted the other half with Broken Hearted, no tape this time so it wouldn't pull off the crackles.
Thick coat of Seche Vite and you're done!
Thats cool!
ReplyDeleteYAY!! Congrats Rebecca! I have been waiting for you to announce this ever since you dropped a hint during the Blog Fest! ;) This looks gorgeous!! I can't wait to get my hands on it. I'm so happy for you! :D

I like the half'n'half look.. It's good to see different ways of using the crackles :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome mani again Rebecca! :o)
ReplyDeleteIt's weird I have yet to see anyone wearing crackle or shatter, and I have been looking for it.
That's a fun manicure! I can't get enough of crackles too! Keep doing them! :)

Thanks everyone :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I will keep the crackles coming, as soon as I get the other colors you can bet I will be doing a tonne!
I actually like this look and I don't like the crackle fad *AT ALL*. I'm way too much of a perfectionist with OCD to have crackled polish on my fingers. I'd pick it off right away just like when my manis start to chip! LOL
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I am a bad, bad picker.
ReplyDeleteIn fact I rarely use polish remover to take off my manis...
But yes I think this is a nice different way to use the crackles!
Hi Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteHow do you think this will look with a black base and then use the cracked candy and fault line (purple)?
How about with a fuchsia base (like ChG purple panic)?
i'm terrible with visualizing these things.
Hmm, I'm not sure if Fault Line and Cracked Candy would be too good together, where Fault Line doesn't seem to crackle as much as the others and also where it has a bit of a different finish.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure either would look good over Purple Panic.
I put Black Shatter over Purple Panic on a friend once and it was awesome!
broken hearted was the only crackle they didn't have. :(
ReplyDeleteewww...how about black shatter and lightening bolt over Purple Panic??
if that is really bad, just know that yes sometimes i have to have help matching clothing items for my outfits lol
I bet that would be cool!
