wanted it, bought it, swatched it, hated it, returned it

Did you read the title of this post? It sums up my feelings on this polish.

Do you ever hear someone talking about a polish or see a swatch of it and want it really badly, but then hate it when you actually buy it?
It happened to me with Milani's Rad Purple from the neon line.
Kayla Shevonne mentioned it in a recent post and I figured now was the time to show you this polish so I could warn everyone about it. I swatched it ages ago but didn't post it because I hate it so much!


Bleh. Yuck.
As you can see, Rad Purple is not very rad and nor is it very purple. Nor is it neon.
It is sheer, burgundy, dark, and dries semi-matte. 4 coats.
There is not one thing I like about it.

Don't let the bottle fool you - the bottles have a wrap around them, hiding the true color. I will never understand why.

I hated it so much that I actually returned it to the store and exchanged it the same day that I swatched it.
Do you ladies have any experiences like this one? Let me know so I stay away from those polishes too!

Remember yesterday when I begged for some nail mail? I got some very exciting nail mail. :)


This was from the lovely Inge of PolishSis. Her blog was one of the first blogs I started reading! Long before I had my own!
So when she contacted me for a swap I was delighted. And even more delighted when I got the goodies!
I'll have a more detailed post when I swatch them. I plan on swatching them on Thursday!
Now... If only my other 15 packages would come... heh. (Don't worry, they aren't all polish.)

    Yikes, how come it's not purple? I grabbed it a while ago but never got around to use it, no return for me lol. Wow you got Teeez, lucky!

    I love the title of this post. Also, yeah, that sounds like a not-great polish. And so weird that the color is obscured!

    I hate the opaque Milani bottles! I'm not crazy about this color either.

    Love the title!!! too cute!!!!!! I don't care for that polish either. I have a similar color and I don't really like it.

    I hate it when the bottle is opaque and you can't see the polish color. That sucks. And I can't wait to see the Teeez swatches!

    Thank you for posting this! I was literally going to buy this tonight. I bought the fresh teal neon a while ago and really liked it and I was planning on buying two new Milani's tonight(since it's on sale at CVS). Have you tried any of the other neons?

    WOW that is crazy ! It is so nothing like the bottle,I mean neon's always look better in the bottles but WOW!!!
    I only have two Milani, but they are both shimmers. I will def stay away from this!

    That 'purple' is just horrible, yuck.

    Same thing happened to me with this nail polish! What a yucky disappointment :( plastic wraps around nail polish bottles are totally misleading.

    This would have been a pretty color though if it was what I was expecting, dried glossy, and took only 2 coats!

    I have the WORST luck with semi-matte fuchsias and purples as well. The same god damned thing always happens. Dries ugly, dark and not neon at all.

    I have this too and I LOATHE it. Looks like bloody grape juice!! And to top it off, someone gifted me a second bottle of Rad Purple for Christmas. =(

    I had an experience with some polishes. I just love Kleancolor! I love the colors & the consistency. So when they came out with their crackle polish I was excited I purchased all of the colors off of EBay. What a waste & the worst purchase ever! They are so bad I think they should recall all of them. Beware & don't purchase them. I notice now the price has gone down immensely on their crackle polish now that people have tried them.

    I have Rad Purple, and it definitely does not look like that for me! Maybe they changed the formula for that one (I picked mine up a year and a half ago!) because I definitely get a more matte-looking purple, and I love it.

    I also have Fresh Teal - another one that I really like.

    That's just really weird. I'll have to swatch it and show you, but even on my nail wheel, it just does not look like what you got.
