Hey guys!
I have some very pretty and very popular nails to show you today!
I'm a big fan of The Hunger Games book series so of course I had to see the movie. Effie Trinket was rockin' some seriously hot nails during some of the scenes, and I had to recreate some of them!
But I'm definitely not the first to do this look, I've seen it probably 10 times already. Haha!
Despite being all over the place, they're still pretty and I really enjoyed wearing them!
Tada!
I did mine with a more purple color while Effie's were more fuchsia.
I happened to be wearing China Glaze Gothic Lolita when I thought about doing this manicure so I just went for it!
The gold glitter gradient was done with China Glaze Blonde Bombshell and Essence Make It Golden. I did the gradient with a sponge.
Glitter gradients are so quick and easy, and really eye-catching! I dig them. A lot.
I wish I had liked the colors from China Glaze's Capitol Colors collection... But they were just a bummer. I didn't buy ANY! And that's rare for me. Not my colors.
I mean yes, the Hunger Games is pretty morose... But the colors didn't have to be!!
Do I have any more Hunger Games fans out there? Did you do some Effie nails?
I'm really interested to see how they do the next two movies in the series. The books are pretty intense so I bet the movies will be too! (And I wonder if we'll get to see more crazy nails!)
looks awesome! i love your take on her nails
ReplyDeleteThat color combo is fantastic! Love it!
ReplyDeletei love your nails
ReplyDeleteLove the Hunger Games. I didn't do any Effie nails; I kept meaning to and just never got around to it, lol. But I did like most of the color from the HG polish, especially Riveting. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis looks cute :) I loved her nails in the film, these are a good version
ReplyDeleteI love the Hunger Games! I'm a huge fun! I love these nails, especially your take on them! I think I'm going to go try some Effie Trinket nails now. However, I did like some of the colors in the collection. So I got the mini set. But I am a beginning nail addict, so you probably had similar colors anyway! Once again, love the nails.
ReplyDeleteThese look great! I haven't seen the movie yet but I just finished the book last night. OMG, so good. I really want to do some Fire girl nails now lol.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about the HG collection. I loved the books and I loved China Glaze, and I didn't buy a single polish! I'm looking forward to CG's Safari collection, though. I think I'll be all over that! I do like your Effie mani, though :D
ReplyDeleteI don't know the movie and the inspiration but the result is fantastic ;)
ReplyDeleteI love Gothic Lolita & the gold just makes it pop so much more!
ReplyDeleteOh yea - I totally tried these right after I saw the movie! Haha. I like this color combo a lot. I love the books and movie and I love seeing nails inspired by her!! So fun :)
ReplyDeleteI got the books as a christmas present in german.
ReplyDeleteI loved them so much that I read them in english too^^
Your nails are fantastic (:
Great work as usual! I like the color combo. I did my first sponge multicolored mani last night. Love this technique, messy but fast and easy! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have not seen the movie but I am loving this combo. I need to try some gradient, yours always amazing.
ReplyDeletefabulous as always :D I'm still not tired of the Hunger Games, so good!
ReplyDeleteI'm *such* a fan, I did my nails like Katniss and did matching makeup to see the movie on opening day. Then I went and recorded a rap freestyle all about THG.
ReplyDeleteI didn't buy any of the CG polishes or tried Effie's looks though! But I love this!
