Hi everyone!
Happy New Year's Eve! (Or Happy New Year to those of you on the other side of the world who are already in 2013!)
Today's post is the last polish from the Models Own Mirrorball Collection and I think I definitely saved the best for last.
(I know I said earlier that the purple was probably my favorite but I changed my mind.)
Models Own - Freak Out! (shown over Hits Hello Kitty - Blueberry)
An amazing glitterbomb with all kinds of blue glitter and blue holo shard glitter and tiny bar glitter and pink glitter and... Ah! I love it.
This combination of glitter is just really cute. The colors are so fun. I like the short bar glitter, it doesn't look hairy like some bar glitter does! It's just right.
This is two coats of glitter with some additional fishing to fill empty spaces.
As I have said in every post, you're gonna need lots of topcoat to cover the roughness of these glitters.
Sooooo much fun. I can't wait to wear this one again! I bet it would be awesome over practically anything.
Overall I'm really stoked on this collection and I'm glad I decided to splurge on it.
Yesterday I said I might wear all five of them as my NYE mani... And I went for it!
If I can get some decent pictures, I'll post it tomorrow... Holy blingy!!

Models Own Mirrorball Collection - Disco Inferno
Good morning and happy Sunday!
We're still rolling along with swatches of the Models Own Mirrorball Collection - hooray for glitter!
Models Own - Disco Inferno (shown over Hits Hello Kitty - Sweet)
Gold and green and holo glitterbomb!
Tiny gold glitters, big gold glitters, gold holo shreds, green glitter...
I layered it over orange, not realizing how much green was in the polish, and it ended up looking a little bit Halloween-y.
As with the previous polishes from this collection, this does not dry smoothly and you need lots of topcoat. But I think it is worth it!
Maybe I should layer all five of these together for my New Years Eve manicure... Hmmmm!!!!

Models Own Mirrorball Collection - Hot Stuff
Lookin' for some hot stuff baby this evenin'!
Another polish from the Models Own Mirrorball Collection and another 80's dance song stuck in my head!
Models Own - Hot Stuff (shown over Hits Hello Kitty - Candy)
This is a pink and red and holo glitterbomb!
Pink glitter, purple glitter, red glitter... I think. Hard to tell.
Holo squares! Holo diamonds! Holo shards!
As with all the Mirrorball polishes, the glitter likes to stick out and not lie flat. I found this one was the worst for that. You definitely want several coats of topcoat or you wanna use cuticle nippers and snip off the rough edges, like I do. (Yeah that adds another step to your manicure but hey, then you're not gonna go crazy and pick it all off in 2 hours because it's not perfectly smooth... Haha!)
Three down, two to go!
I really love these polishes and I'm having fun sharing them with you. Everyone loves a glitterbomb.

Models Own Mirrorball Collection - Dancing Queen
Good morning! Here is post 2/5 of the Models Own Mirrorball Collection for your viewing pleasure!
Glittery goodness awaits you!
Models Own - Dancing Queen (shown over Hits Hello Kitty - Melon)
This is the mostly-green glitter from Mirrorball! I adore how they match the caps to the glitter.
You've also got gold and blue in there. Hex glitter, shredded glitter, and diamonds!
The diamond glitter tends to give me pains because they don't like to lie flat.
Like I said yesterday, you wanna wear lots of topcoat with these because the glitters are not smooth and some have a tendency to stick out and annoy the crap out of you. If you're me, anyway.
This combo was a really fun one! I really liked the glitter mix.
The only downside of this polish is that it gets Abba stuck in my head. Real bad.
You are the dancing queen... Young and sweet, only 17....

Models Own Mirrorball Collection - Boogie Nights
Hey everyone! Happy holidays! Hope you're all having a great holiday season.
I've decided to close out 2012 with the Models Own Mirrorball Collection.
I was going to post them all at once but that would just be too many pictures, so I'm doing one at a time! I meant to have this post up way earlier today but I forgot to hit publish... Haha.
Models Own - Boogie Nights (shown over Hits Hello Kitty - Plum)
A mostly-purple glitterbomb! Purple shreds and glitter and red glitter and blue glitter and who knows what else!
If I had to pick a favorite from the collection, this might be it. But it's hard to say because they are all so awesome!
This is two coats of glitter, and you do have to do some fishing to get enough glitter on every nail.
You definitely want to wear a topcoat or two with these because the shards do stick out.
Overall with this collection I had some problems with glitters sticking out and demanding I pick them off... So yeah. Definitely topcoat. And if you're like me... You may need to get out the cuticle nippers and actually nip off the pokey-outey glitters so that you won't pick them off and ruin your manicure...
Check back for posts on the other four fantastic glitters in the coming days!

a festive sandwich
I know it isn't quite Christmas yet, but Merry Christmas to all my dear readers who celebrate! And happy holidays for those who don't!
I love Christmas and I can't wait to see what Santa brings me tomorrow. I wonder if he bought me any polish... (I doubt it though because Santa has a problem with my nail polish collection...)
Of course I had to bust out some holiday polishes for my Christmas manicure!
Eileen from The Sneakerette put China Glaze - Party Hearty in a jelly sandwich last year and I've been wanting to recreate it ever since! So now was the time.
I started with OPI - Alpine Snow Matte, so my white base would dry fast before adding the glitter.
I did two coats of China Glaze - Party Hearty, and then two coats of jelly on top!
The jelly is OPI - Don't Touch My Tutu.
I decided to do a red accent nail with another holiday polish, OPI - Comet Loves Cupid.
Here's how it looked before adding the jelly. I almost left it like this but I had to go all the way!
I just love milky glitter. Hooray for festive nails!
Merry Christmas everyone! Perhaps I'll post some pictures tomorrow of all my goodies... Hehe!

Happy Hands - Motherboy
Good news, I did great in school, and now I'm off for a few weeks of relaxing and hopefully lots of nail painting.
A couple of weeks ago, I was feeling like wearing some pastel colors. With glitter, of course. Pastel glitter!
Happy Hands - Motherboy
This interesting glitter is a nice polish from the indie brand Happy Hands.
The lovely Sarah from Chalkboard Nails sent me a mini of this polish because I loved it so much when she swatched it.
I couldn't decide what I wanted to wear it over so I went with three colors. That's always the best solution. If you can't pick... Pick them all.
The purple is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Lacey Lilac.
The green is China Glaze - Re-fresh Mint.
The pink is China Glaze - Something Sweet.
This is just one coat of glitter, it's totally packed!
Pastel glitters are really interesting. They don't sparkle, so a lot of people saw my nails and didn't realize that it was a glitter topcoat. I got a lot of questions about these nails. Haha. But of course I'm always happy to chat about my nails!
These nails were probably more appropriate for spring than fall/winter... But I don't care! The heart wants what the heart wants! :)

rebecca likes MANicures
Today's post is a little... Different.
Do we all remember the wonderful post from Dan Likes Nails? It was a big hit and everyone hoped he would make another appearance at some point.
Well, he's at it again. This time, with co-conspirators.
Yes, I was forced into doing MANicures. Three of 'em.
And the three men were all very excited about being featured on my blog. So excited that Dan even taught them how to take their nail photos and "showcase both the nails and the bottle." This was a very serious task.
Note that the beverage on the table may have had something to do with the enthusiasm.
I was armed with only two bottles of polish. And a cocktail umbrella as a dotting tool.
American Apparel - Hunter and American Apparel - Dynasty were the only polishes we could round up in the apartment. No topcoat, either. Whomp whomp. But hey, I made it work.
Are you ready to see their manicures, with the photos they carefully took themselves? I thought so.
Isaac has nice nail beds. He was happy that I noticed.
Thomas wanted the reverse of Isaac.
Dan required an accent nail. And then Isaac got jealous.
Just in case your eyes are burning from the man-hands, here's a manicure from me:
That's OPI - La Paz-itively Hot Matte (with topcoat) and some stamping.
I hope the boys are now happy that they have been featured here. And hopefully they weren't too alarmed when they woke up the next day with their nails painted.
I wonder how long before they went hunting for some remover... Haha!

connect the polka dots
Good evening ladies and gentlemen!
My right hand wants some more attention so today's post is showing off a cute manicure I wore on my right hand only. Can't remember what my left hand was doing at the time... Probably something I felt was too complicated to duplicate on my right hand. Ha!
Tada! Looks a bit crazy but I really like it.
The base color is one of my favorite pinks, China Glaze - Dance Baby.
I added dots in three colors, China Glaze - Gothic Lolita, China Glaze - Bahamian Escape, and Essence - Viva La Green.
On top, as I'm sure you can see, I added Lynnderella - Connect the Dots.
I love pastels and adding the black and white glitter on top is really eye-catching.
I should do this again as a full manicure... Haha!
Before I go... I want to tell you something extraordinary.
It is more than halfway through December... And I have only bought 4 polishes!!!!!!
GO ME.

Sonoma Nail Art - The Puck Stops Here
Hey guys!
I'm writing this post super quick because the polish I'm about to show you is currently in stock in the fabulous Michelle's Etsy shop, and I want you to see it and have a chance to buy it! Her polishes don't stay in stock for long so hurry and check out this post and then run to the shop! Hehe.
Sonoma Nail Art - The Puck Stops Here
This is a gorgeous wintery blue glitter polish that is totally packed with glitter, shown here is just one coat of glitter over Deborah Lippmann's On The Beach. (Yes, I put a winter polish over a polish referring to beaches. It makes no sense. Get over it. I'm over it.)
Please ignore how I have blurred out the label, my bottle does not have the official label but a personal photo instead so I'm covering that shizzz.
I tried to take pictures without the label too but of course those didn't come out as nicely as the ones with the label, so blurring it is...
This polish is just so nice and glittery and wintery and the formula is great as always from Sonoma.
I have not regretted any of my purchases from Michelle, her polishes are always wonderful.
If you like this polish, it is currently in stock, along with a few others! But it will not last long!
Head to the Sonoma Nail Art Etsy shop to pick up this baby. And tell Michelle I sent ya. Hooray!
